Following the success of the 2010, 2011 and 2012 Pull for Sight, ORBIS Ireland has teamed up with GECAS and Shannon Aerospace to host this event on Saturday 20 July 2013. We are on the road this year and the ORBIS Pull for Sight will see teams of 25 pull an aircraft over 12 feet at Shannon Airport. The aircraft - weighing a massive 85 tonnes - is the equivalent of 21 elephants or 42 family cars!

The pull will be made up of corporate groups, service organisations and individuals – all motivated to try something new and have fun.

To enter a team of 25 costs €3000. Don't have a full team of 25? You can sign up on your own or with a smaller group and we will team you up with other individuals. For individuals signing up there is a registration fee of €75 and we request that each participant fundraises a further €75 for ORBIS.   

Commenting on the Plane Pull, Dr. Maurice Cox, Chairman of ORBIS Ireland said: “We’re delighted with the level of support we’ve had at the Plane Pull over the past couple of years. The events have raised over €30,000 which will go along way to help us address Ethiopia’s high prevalence of avoidable blindness. These areas have no primary eye care, a simple surgery can transform people’s lives”.
