Leave a Legacy

You can give the gift of sight by remembering ORBIS in your will. By leaving a legacy to ORBIS, you can ensure that our work to eliminate blindness will continue, bringing essential knowledge and skills to ophthalmologists, nurses and health care workers around the world.

Currently 37 million people in the world are blind, yet 75 percent of them don't have to be. Their blindness is either preventable or treatable. For many, losing their sight can mean not only losing their independence, but also their ability to provide for themselves and their families. It can also mean that their children may not attend school, instead staying home to care for a blind relative.

By remembering ORBIS in your will, you can help us give people around the world their dignity, independence and an opportunity to work their way out of poverty.

You can leave a legacy to ORBIS through several means. Each is are tax-free, so every penny goes to support our work. Choose among these options:

  • Residual legacy. An amount of your estate left over once all other responsibilities have been met.

  • Pecuniary legacy. A fixed sum of money.

  • Reversionary legacy. A gift that passes to another person for use during their lifetime and on their death, it passes to another beneficiary, such as a charity.
