Chairman
Dr. Maurice Cox is the founder of ORBIS Ireland. He holds a B.A in medicine from Trinity College, Dublin, and an M.Phil. in skeletal biology from Cambridge University. Dr. Cox co-founded the private healthcare provider called The Well. The Well is a primary health care business whose activities include health screening, occupational health services and urgent care services. Dr. Cox is also a member of the ORBIS UK board.
Directors
Dr. Ray Power is a practising GP and a graduate of University College Dublin. In 2000, he set up a medical recruitment company called Locumotion. In 2003, he founded The Well with Dr. Maurice Cox.
Lorcan Tiernan was admitted to legal practice as a solicitor in 1995 and joined Dillon Eustace that year. He subsequently became a partner of the firm in 2000 and serves as head of the corporate and commercial departments. Mr. Tiernan is a graduate of University College Dublin and the University of London. He is a member of the International Bar Association.
Andrew Lowe is a modern languages graduate of Trinity College, Dublin, with a post-graduate diploma in accounting (UUJ Jordanstown). He is a chartered accountant and jointly runs Element Films, a Dublin-based feature film and television drama company. A member of the executive committee of Screen Producers Ireland (SPI), Mr. Lowe is vice-chair of the IBEC Audiovisual Federation.
John Crowe joined Merrill Lynch in February 2000 after working for 10 years with KPMG Ireland as director of their personal financial services division. Mr. Crowe qualified from UCD with a B. Comm. and is a member of the Society of Investment Analysts. He is a qualified financial adviser and a registered representative of the National Association of Securities Dealers.
Ronan Traynor is founder and managing director of Verve Marketing. A graduate of UCD with a B.Comm, Mr. Traynor is an events manager with broad experience in all aspects of event management, sponsorship and marketing, as well as tactical promotional marketing and experiential activation.
Michael Boyd holds a B. Comm. from UCD and is a Barrister at Law. He has worked in international development since 1975, originally with DEVCO - Ireland and subsequently with the Irish Export Board. He was a founding director of TDI Group in 1987 and is currently Chairman of the DCI group of companies. The group comprises TDI and TMS International in Ireland and Landell Mills in Wiltshire, England. The companies carry out technical assistance and consulting projects throughout the developing world for client governments and international development agencies.
Michael Holland is Chairman of the Ampleforth Group of Companies. He spent many years as an Accountant with Horwath, Bastow, Charleton before venturing out into business. His business interests cover a wide spectrum including financial investment, property development, hotel ownership and management. At present, he has interests in Ireland, UK, U.S.A. and Poland.
Laurence (Lar) Bradshaw spent 20 years in management consulting with McKinsey Worldwide. He holds a master's degree in business administration from IMD in Switzerland and has a number on non-executive board appointments.
Carina Ryan is a Manager in Aircraft Trading for AWAS Ireland. Carina joined AWAS in 2006 as Marketing and Communications Manager. Prior to AWAS, Carina worked at CIT Aerospace where she supported the sales team. Carina holds a Marketing Degree from the Marketing Institute of Ireland.
Donal Brosnahan is a consultant Ophthalmologist at the Royal Victoria Eye and Ear Hospital and Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children, Crumlin. His specialty is paediatric ophthalmology.
Mark Pollock is a blind adventurer, athlete, author, and international motivational speaker. An avid rower Pollock has won bronze and silver medals at the 2002 Commonwealth Games and has also written a book titled Making it Happen.
Trevor Lydon is the Chief Financial Officer of Airbus Financial Services, a subsidiary of the European aircraft manufacturer, Airbus SAS. Trevor holds a B.Comm from UCD, a Masters of Accounting from the Michael Smurfit School of Business and is a Chartered Accountant (FCA).
Anne Marie Curran is Managing Director of Drury Communications. Anne Marie began her PR career in Fleishman Hillard before joining Drury in 2004. She holds a Masters of Public Relations from DIT, a BA International from UCD and recently obtained a Legal Studies Diploma from Kings Inns.
Clare O’Dea is Director of Select Strategies. She has a BA in Science of Materials from Trinity College Dublin, an MBA from Smurfit Business School UCD and she is also a qualified member of the Society of Investment Analysts. Clare previously worked with KPMG and Ulster Bank Investment Managers.
Raymond (Ray) Sisson is President and Chief Executive Officer of AWAS. He began his aviation career in 1991 as a corporate lawyer specializing in aircraft finance. Before moving to AWAS Ray spent thriteen years with GE Capital Aviation Services, followed by becoming President & CEO of Titan Aviation Leasing Ltd. Prior to his appointment at AWAS, Ray held the position of Chief Commercial Officer of SR Technics in Zurich, Switzerland. Ray has a BA in Economics from Bucknell University, a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center and an MBA from The University of Chicago.
